A local housebuilder has spent thousands of pounds to back a very special festive campaign looking to put smiles on the faces of hundreds of children across Mid Sussex this Christmas.
Bovis Homes has donated £2,000 to the Toy Appeal 2018
Bovis Homes’ South East region are supporting the Toy Appeal 2018, launched by More Radio Mid Sussex, by donating £2,000.
More than 6,000 toys have been donated to children since the first appeal was launched four years ago. Listeners are asked to buy one extra toy when they do their Christmas shopping and drop them off at designated points in the region.
Candice McCabe, regional marketing manager at Bovis Homes, said: “We are delighted that hundreds of local children will be having a brighter Christmas this year thanks to the appeal.
“Community is important to us and this is a cause close to our hearts – everyone deserves a happy Christmas, and for us to be able to help get more toys to children means a lot.”
In Mid Sussex almost a quarter of children are still classed as living in poverty.
A spokesperson for More Radio said: "We created the Toy Appeal to try and make a difference and, since the first appeal in 2014, we have been overwhelmed by the generosity of our listeners donating over 6,000 toys."
Bovis Homes has several developments across East and West Sussex with locations in Crawley, Hurstpierpoint, Littlehampton, Worthing and Hailsham.
