The upstairs study at The Magnolia show home
Regency Grange, Warwick: Show home tour
- 11 Mar 2021
Since opening the Regency Grange show homes in Warwick, we’ve taken several reservations and received lots of positive comments about the striking interior design. We asked Andy Richardson, managing director at Edward Thomas Interiors, to take us on a room by room tour of each home, explaining the inspiration behind the styling… The two show homes at Regency Grange have been designed with a very botanical, natural style, aimed at bringing the outside in, which is a big interior design trend for this year. Whilst we’ve used this as a basis for the design, each home has its own colour palette, furniture and accessories to create a sense of individuality. The two-bedroom Magnolia is an ideal starter home and for a smaller property, is extremely well proportioned, there are no pinch points and it has a very logical flow. Throughout the home we’ve used a combination of sapphire blue, grey and metallic colours contrasted with wooden and black frame furniture to create a striking yet luxurious finish. The ground floor has a good size lounge, where we’ve added geometric print wallpaper and a smoked mirror wall to really make a statement. In the kitchen/diner there’s plenty of space for a six-seater dining table with blue velvet chairs and we’ve also incorporated open shelving, mirror and an impressive industrial light fitting. Upstairs, the Magnolia has a generous, multi-purpose landing. We’ve styled this as a working from home station with a desk, wooden shelving and two-seater velvet sofa but it could just as easily be transformed into a dressing area, walk-in closet, library or craft space. The colour palette is echoed in both bedrooms, the master features an impressive leaf print blue wallpaper while the guest bedroom has a metallic, geometric headboard and matching cushions. The neighbouring Aspen is a classic four-bedroom family home however, as it’s from Bovis Homes' Pheonix range, the ceiling heights and staircases are increased so the home instantly feels brighter and bigger. In this property, we’ve tried to create a feeling of wellness and tranquillity; tropical and aeronautical wallpaper reminds us of travel whilst natural products and plenty of greenery encourage outdoor adventures. Emerald green is used as the dominant colour throughout, complemented by warm beige and gold accents. In the lounge, palm leaf print wallpaper and paint on opposite walls create a real wow moment as you enter the room while a nine-panel sectional mirror opposite the double windows helps reflect natural light. The study offers a cosy and private space for home working, and here we’ve included an old-fashioned suitcase style shelving unit and distressed panel wallpaper. The kitchen/diner/family room would undoubtedly become the Aspen’s main living space and because of the size, we’ve been able to illustrate how it can be used for relaxing and entertaining. A formal dining table provides a centrepiece whilst a cosy sofa and natural wooden furniture create a relaxing corner. The final room of the Aspen’s ground floor is what I’d describe as a lootility! A very functional area that doubles as both a downstairs cloakroom and utility room, we’ve added wallpaper above the tiling, some house plants and distressed wood prints to continue the ecological appearance. A central staircase leads to the Aspen’s four bedrooms. In the master, we’ve used a very unusual tropical animal wallpaper behind the bed alongside wooden furniture and exotic bird artwork to create a holiday vibe. The second bedroom has two opulent gold wall pieces – one leaf mirror and one leaf artwork to inspire and amaze house hunters. The two additional bedrooms we’ve styled for children; one teenager’s room with an aeronautical theme and fantastic propellor plane mural and one younger child’s room with woodland animals and a tent shaped bed! The Magnolia and Aspen show homes can be found at our Regency Grange development in Warwick. The location offers a collection of one to five-bedroom homes with a range of purchase assistance schemes available to home hunters.
