An Oxfordshire village hall will soon be undergoing an exciting make-over thanks to the support of a local house builder.
Bovis Homes Southern Counties has given £2,000 to the Chinnor Village Hall Charity to transform its kitchen, and representatives of the company came to the hall to present the cheque to the committee.
Robin Williams, Chairman of the Chinnor Village Hall Committee, said: “On behalf of everyone who uses Chinnor Village Hall, and its committee, I would like to thank Bovis Homes for their very generous donation of £2,000, which will go towards the refurbishment of our main kitchen.
“Chinnor Village Hall is a much loved and used venue, catering for a wide variety of interests and celebrations. Being placed at the heart of Chinnor Village, the refurbishment of our kitchen will benefit many people.”
Bovis Homes recently joined the Chinnor community with its Chiltern View location, bringing a range of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes to the village.
Regional managing director, James Dunne, said: “Chinnor is a wonderful village, with a fantastic community spirit. We are proud to be a part of it and to have the opportunity to support local charities such as the Chinnor Village Hall.
“It is a fantastic venue which is clearly well managed and valued locally. It is facilities such as these that play an integral part in bringing local communities together, which is something we at Bovis Homes really value.”
Chinnor Village Hall was built in 1939 and over the years has undergone a considerable amount of refurbishment. In recent years the main hall has had a complete makeover and the kitchen upgrade will further modernise the facility.
The village hall is used by a wide range of organisations in the local community, and can be hired by individuals for social events, such as weddings and parties.
