House builder Bovis Homes is asking local residents to help shape their proposals for up to 1,000 new homes at Rowtree Park.

The site, off Rowtree Road on the southern edge of Northampton, was granted outline planning permission in August 2016, and includes plans for local shopping and community facilities, a new primary school and extensive public open space. The site is also allocated for development in the Local Plan (the West Northamptonshire Joint Core Strategy).

Oliver Bennett and his partner Laura found the right location to bring their family together at Bovis Homes' Warwick Gates development in Warwick and it even proved the perfect place for a grand proposal.

Oliver, who works in the Special Vehicle Operations team at Jaguar Land Rover and Laura who is an Events Manager for a company in nearby Stratford-upon-Avon began their search for a new home in September 2016.

New Ash Green Village Association is celebrating its 50th birthday with the opening of brand new kitchen facilities at its Village Hall, thanks to local resident Bovis Homes and kitchen supplier Moores.

The new facilities were officially unveiled at a special event attended by members of the local community, as well as representatives of Bovis Homes, Moores Kitchens, who donated the equipment, and the Village Association. Councillor David Brazier, Chairman of Kent County Council, also attended the unveiling.

House builder Bovis Homes has been showing its support for the Armed Forces, by taking part in the annual 'Big Brew Up' fundraising event.

The company held special events across its regional offices on Friday to coincide with the national events of Reserves Day (Wednesday 21st June) and Armed Forces Day (Saturday 24th June).

Image for Sherford goes starry eyed for street names

Residents of Sherford, the new South Hams community, will find themselves living in streets that are 'out of this world', with the town's road names based upon the theme of constellations. Taking inspiration from the night's sky, Pegasus Place, Aquarius Drive, Libra Avenue and Dorado Street are just some of the first streets to be named at Sherford. 

The main road leading into the new community has also been officially titled Hercules Road. Named after the Greek mythological hero, Hercules is also one of the most famous modern constellations in the solar system. Some of the other new street names include, Aries Lane, Gemini Road, Lynx Road, Scorpio Mews, Cygnus Mews and Centaur Mews.

Image for Warwick housing development lands top Health and Safety Award

The construction team behind a new housing development in Warwick has been recognised for the excellent safety standards of their site with a national award.

The build team from Bovis Homes' Warwick Gates location, led by site manager Frank McLane, has been announced as a 'Commended Best Site Award' winner in the National House Building Council's (NHBC) annual Health and Safety Awards. It comes after several months of regular scoring inspections from the NHBC judges.

Frank, who has worked at Warwick Gates for just over a year, says: "We've got a great group of people here and we really pull together. Children at a school in Hemel Hempstead are enjoying a new play area that has been created using a range of recycled materials from a nearby construction site.

The play area at Two Waters Primary School is the result of a joint effort by Bovis Homes staff, project partners Osborne and other members of the local community, and demonstrates a unique use of recycled materials.

The annual football tournament organised by Waterbeach Colts FC was a huge success over the bank holiday weekend, which saw Bovis Homes support the popular fundraising event.

The tournament is run as part of Waterbeach Beer Festival, with all profits donated to the football club, a voluntary group affiliated with Cambridgeshire FA and supports local Community Groups. Founded in 2002, Waterbeach Colts FC provides boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 16-years with the opportunity to learn and play football.
