Image for Armed Forces discount helps Chris lay down roots

For Chris Sharrott, working in the Armed Forces has meant moving home a lot - in fact, soon he'll be heading off to New Zealand to take up a temporary new posting. But before travelling halfway across the world, Chris decided it was time to put down some roots - a place he could return to and call home - in Cheshire, close to where he grew up.

"I hadn't been actively looking to buy a house, because of the nature of my job. But I had owned a house when I was based in Cheshire previously, and getting back on the property ladder was part of my long-term thinking," explains Chris, who is stationed at RAF Shawbury in nearby Shropshire.

Thanks to a tip-off from his mum, Chris found out about Bovis Homes' unique Armed Forces Discount Scheme, available across the country, including at the house builder's Hampton Lea location i... more

Image for Shinfield Meadows hits right note for music-mad Annabelle

Annabelle Newman is a busy woman. A corporate lawyer in the pharmaceutical industry by day, and a music lawyer by night. So when it came to buying her first home, once she found Bovis Homes' Shinfield Meadows location, the process of buying a new house proved a lot simpler than she first thought.

"I had been looking to buy my first home for a while, but with price and location very important, and time at a premium, I'd not found what I was looking for," Annabelle explains. "I had been renting for a long time and had started to wonder if I'd ever be able to afford my own place."

A keen mountain biker and motorcyclist, Annabelle was looking for a house, rather than an apartment, with a garden and off-road parking. It wasn't until she visited Shinfield Meadows near Reading that she began to see how close her dream ... more

But as their family expanded, with two-year old daughter Lilly set to be joined by a baby sibling in time for Christmas 2016, they decided to move to another, bigger Bovis Home.

"We bought a three-bed Southwold at Bovis Homes' Abbotswood location almost four years ago, but with a growing family, we wanted more living space," explains Louise. As well as gaining a new home, 10-year-old Nicole Collins also managed to find two new pals when she and her parents moved to Whitehouse Park in Milton Keynes.

Nicole, mum Mariola and dad Jason, previously lived in nearby Two Mile Ash and watched the creation of this new part of the community with interest. With the family welcoming a new addition later this year, the new homes arrived at a great time for the Collins family, as they were looking for a home which would provide more space for Nicole and their new baby boy. They decided to find out more about the new homes and upsize their two-bedroom house.

Image for New homes expert sticks with Bovis in Shifnal

As someone who sold new houses as a career, Charlotte Wright was an expert in helping people find their dream home, but last year decided it was time she found her own with partner Alex Mather.

The couple, who were renting in Solihull, had both moved around a lot over the years and were keen to buy a home which would set them up for the future. Charlotte, a sales advisor for Bovis Homes, and Alex, a store manager, didn't want the hassle of doing-up a house, so had their eyes set on a new-build home.
