Site manager Oliver Cookson is in the running for a national award at a prestigious house-building industry gala in London.

Graphics guru Richard Wood, is celebrating 25 years at Bovis Homes!

When the Associate Graphic Design Director first joined the company in 1992, he had a ponytail and rode a Kawasaki Z650 motorbike to work at the then South West region's offices on Lansdown Road in Cheltenham. National house builder Bovis Homes has launched a new dedicated staff training centre at its Thames Valley regional headquarters in Reading.

The Bovis Homes Training Centre, which was officially opened by Chief Executive Greg Fitzgerald, will act as a focal point for learning and development initiatives delivered by the company for its staff, who work across eight operating regions and more than 100 sites around the country.

This weekend, home seekers across Cheshire, Shropshire and Staffordshire can take advantage of a range of special new-build offers at home buyers' events organised by a local house builder.

The annual football tournament organised by Waterbeach Colts FC was a huge success over the bank holiday weekend, which saw Bovis Homes support the popular fundraising event.

The tournament is run as part of Waterbeach Beer Festival, with all profits donated to the football club, a voluntary group affiliated with Cambridgeshire FA and supports local Community Groups. New research carried out by the Home Builders Federation has found that the cost of upgrading an older property to the same standard as a new build home could be as much as £50,000. The publication of the data comes at the launch of this year's New Homes Week which aims to highlight the many benefits for consumers of buying a new build home.

From the benefits of living in an energy efficient home that could save you hundreds of pounds on your utility bills each year, to the brand-new fixtures and fittings that come as standard, buying a new build home offers many advantages when compared to buying an older property.
