Image for New development in Filton reaches major milestone

Bovis Homes' popular development at Charlton Hayes in Filton has just seen the addition of a much-anticipated footbridge.

Weighing approximately 25 tonnes, the footbridge was lifted into position using a 450 tonne Liebherr mobile crane, with the Highways Department overseeing the lifting operation.

Residents and soon-to-be residents at Bovis Homes’ Bramble Park location in the village of Hurstpierpoint got into the community spirit at a special ‘meet the neighbours’ event.

Home seekers will soon be able to choose from a range of properties at a highly-anticipated new part of the community in Twigworth, Gloucester, as Bovis Homes has announced plans for a major development there, including education and leisure facilities.

The development will feature 471 private homes, including a range of two to four-bedroom houses, from the company’s eye-catching new housing range. In addition, 254 properties will be provided as affordable housing, including one and two-bed apartments and two to four-bed homes.

 Children at King Ina Church of England Academy finished their term walking the plank as they welcomed a new addition to their playground thanks to a recent donation from a local housebuilder. 

A new pirate ship has been added to the outdoor play equipment at Owlets Pre-School, which is part of the Academy, after Bovis Homes gave £395 to the Somerton nursery.

An Oxfordshire military veteran support group is keeping things cool, thanks to a special donation from housebuilder Bovis Homes.

Heyford and Bicester Veterans Group, which supports ex-army veterans, reservists and their families from across the area, has been given a new fridge-freezer to help with the catering of its numerous events.

Image for Young pupils enjoy uncovering history on Matford dig with local housebuilder

Going digging in Devon for most youngsters usually means grabbing a bucket and spade and heading for the beach – but these Exminster pupils enjoyed a different experience altogether on a housebuilder’s land near their school.

Exminster Primary School pupils took part in an archaeological excavation funded by Bovis Homes on their new South West Exeter development in Matford, searching for historical artefacts as part of a school careers week.

Image for Sherford's new school bids fond farewell to its first leavers

Sherford's first primary school – Sherford Vale – recently said goodbye to its first Year 6 leavers. The school is coming to the end of its first academic year, having only opened its doors in September, welcoming just one Year 6 student at the time. And now, 10 months later, there are eight Year 6 pupils preparing to leave for secondary school.

The eight school leavers – Ofelia, Reuben, Jayden, Amelia, Skyie, Isabelle, Lucy and Riley – took part in a special assembly today. Sherford Vale staff, students and families came together to celebrate the pupils’ first and last year at the school and bid each other a fond farewell.

Since opening in the Autumn with 57 pupils, the school now ends the year with 122 students. Come September, there will be 148 pupils in total – a huge 160 per cent increase in a year – and testament to the school’s outstanding local reputation.
